What a weekend
Not!
Friday night I went to the gym, then watched Young Guns on DVD
Saturday I bummed around doing nothing, then did some housework and bummed around some more. Then watched the rugby and cried :(
Sunday we went and saw Wedding Crashers which was very funny, then went home, made a roast and watched the V8s.
Incredibley exciting weekend as per usual :)

Aren't they gorgeous?!
NAIROBI (AFP) - A baby hippopotamus that survived the tsunami waves on the Kenyan coast has formed a strong bond with a giant male century-old tortoise, in an animal facility in the port city of Mombassa , officials said.
The hippopotamus, nicknamed Owen and weighing about 300 kilograms (650 pounds), was swept down Sabaki River into the Indian Ocean , then forced back to shore when tsunami waves struck the Kenyan coast on December 26, before wildlife rangers rescued him.
"It is incredible. A-less-than-a-year-old hippo has adopted a male tortoise, about a century old, and the tortoise seems to be very happy with being a 'mother'," ecologist Paula Kahumbu, who is in charge of Lafarge Park , told AFP.
"After it was swept and lost its mother, the hippo was traumatized. It had to look for something to be a surrogate mother. Fortunately, it landed on the tortoise and established a strong bond. They swim, eat and sleep together," the ecologist added.
"The hippo follows the tortoise exactly the way it follows its mother. If somebody approaches the tortoise, the hippo becomes aggressive, as if protecting its biological mother," Kahumbu added.
"The hippo is a young baby, he was left at a very tender! age and by nature, hippos are social animals that like to stay with t heir mothers for four years," he explained.
Jeans for Genes Day
It's Jeans for Genes day today http://www.jeans4genes.com.au/
One of the ladies I work with is very proper, very PC and very conservative.
Of course being jeans for genes day we are wearing jeans at work. Doh! 3 of us in an office and she walks in sees us in jeans, rolls her eyes, huffs and walks out. She of course is not in jeans (they're not "professional" - why do I keep hearing that word around here?) so neither should we.
It's one day - only ONE day and it supporting a good cause.
Grrrrrrrr some people make my blood boil!

Or Thank F**K It's Friday
And about time too! This week has been way too incredibly long and annoying. And I even had Wednesday off!
Plans for the weekend include WW meeting, going shopping with the boy, going to my niece and nephews birthday party (I'm buying them balloons), housework, shopping and maybe go to the movies.

Only just recovered from the weekend
Why aren't weekends longer? I think having 3 day weekends and 4 day weeks would be much mroe efficient!
Well on Thursday I found out that defacto grandmother has breast cancer. Was diagnosed the Friday before last Thursday and she's being operated on this Friday. It's hard to keep thinking strong thoughts.
On Saturday I had my roman blind course. I didn't get it all finished, got about halfway through which I'm happy with. Got all the hard bits out of the way while I still had help around.
Sunday I was helping with the banner for Festival of Dreams (check out the link at the right). We didn't get it all finished, but should do this Thursday.
Then Sunday arvo we went out to Seven Mile Beach and walked along the beach. Was lovely and the best bit was that it didn't get dark until 5.50! Roll on summer!
